The main responsibility and accountability of the Account Director position is to lead day to day account management of a large number of accounts while training and developing Associate Account Executives and Account Executives. The Account Director will serve as the link between the agency and the clients, serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, and manage all associated tasks for the client’s advertising and marketing communication campaigns.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide Associate Account Executive workflow
  • Conduct weekly status meetings with Associate Account Executives
  • Leads day to day account management
  • Manages daily Dealer and Board communications
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Dealers and Boards
  • Serve as a point of contact to the Region and the Dealers
  • Assist Associate Account Executives in making calls and leading meetings
  • Understand client’s needs and objectives and plan campaigns accordingly
  • Presenting, alongside agency colleagues, the campaign ideas and budget to the client
  • Work with media, creative, and production staff to formulate marketing strategies in advance of board meetings
  • Collaborate with the Producer Creative Director to communicate marketing campaign themes and elements, creative strategy and execution.
  • Collaborate with the Media Director and/or Media Buyer to communicate media strategy and budgets via monthly media requests.
  • Executes client campaigns on time and within budget
  • Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns and make adjustments when needed
  • Plans and leads client meetings
  • Take meeting notes and prepare all dealer and board written communications
  • Manage budgets and monthly billing
  • Conduct monthly competitive research for assigned markets

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Bachelor Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 8+ years of client management experience
  • Advertising agency experience and knowledge of retail and automotive marketing communications required
